Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!

ONBOARDING.

You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.

You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.

"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.

We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.

As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.

During your stay here, you will receive missions. While it is up to you whether you take on any mission here, I would advise for you to take ones that you are able to handle. These missions will be your lifeline here.

Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."

And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.

ARRIVAL.

Being new to the ship, you might want to take a gander at what the ship's got to offer. The ship is rather large, and there's so much to go through.

From a seemingly almost endless mall to bars to cafes, certainly there's something that caters to every taste! Not to mention that you do have that initial money to spend... so why not do so now?

Just don't get too crazy... you might just lose all of it in a blink of an eye.

Besides the many locations and how one might easily get lost in them, there are times when anti-gravity is turned off, causing characters to fly off in the air.

AND THEN, THEY WERE ROOMMATES.

At some point before they reach the first planet, they might find themselves locked in their room for an hour. It seems that there was some sort of technical issue, but don't worry! At least you're not alone. They might even hear the AI intercom try and help make things less boring--offering ice breakers as the classic two truths and a lie, pong, and even listening to the top hit song on the S.S Phoenix--over and over and over again.

It's probably fine, though.

WELCOME TO FLORIDA.

"We have achieved Normality! We've reached our stop--please enjoy everything the world has to offer. You are free to off board at any time."

In early April, the ship eventually arrives at its stop in Florida. There's quite a bit to do and sights to see. Hey, why not head to Disney World while you're at it? It's a fun time for the whole gang!

MISSION START!

Missions can be immediately taken the very moment the ship lands on the new planet. Characters will find on their devices--as well as on the mission board both the list of permanent missions as well as the bi-monthly missions. Characters can take as many or as little as they'd like. But there seems to be an odd little mission for the bi-monthly ones...wonder what that's about?

OOC: Welcome to the first introduction and event post for Fragment Space! This PSL will largely be a choose your own adventure (although there will be extensive mystery and lore) with a lot of exploration and investigation options. If you'd like to investigate or explore something in particular, please label your toplevel with investigation, either in your post yourself or in the headers.

And as always, feel free to ask any questions as needed as I am always willing to clarify or expand on anything.

[ Think, Shirogane, think...!

He ponders for a second before he removes his school jacket and tries to toss it up to her. ]

Try to hold onto a sleeve, I'll pull you down a bit with the other one!

[ Provided he can reach the other one? ]

[dereban]

Right--

[ She'll grab onto the sleeve, trying to hold onto it tightly. ]

Can you grab the other end?

[taketori]

[ Lucky him that he's so tall. It takes some doing, but he's eventually able to grab on. ]

Right, hold on tight...!

[ As he tries to pull her closer to him?! ]

[dereban]

Got it!

[ She's going to make sure that she holds onto it tight, even if she's not necessarily someone with the strongest grip. Thankfully, she is getting closer. ]

[taketori]

[ Which may make this a little difficult, but he also doesn't want her floating in space. So he has no choice but to make this work, and to slowly tug at the sleeve, pulling her in. ]

When you're close enough, I'll let go and grab your hand. Be ready.

[ He looks determined anyway, waiting for her to be well in reach...! ]

[dereban]

Right...!

[ She's going to mentally count in her head as she watches closely and checks her movements. ]

[ He takes in a deep breath, eyes locked on Inaba's as she pulls her closer and closer until-- ]

Now!

[ And he makes his move, leaping up slightly to grab a hold of a hand, to try and pull her right back down to the floor. ]

[dereban]

[ And Inaba grabs onto his hand, trying to use her other hand to reach out to him as well to help steady herself. ]

There we go, ugh-- that was a pain.

[ And just as she says that, it seems that the gravity has gone back to normal. ]

[taketori]

No kidding-- what the hell was that about?

[ He hasn't let go of her hand, anyway. Still, a sigh of relief. ]

You're... are you okay then, Inaba?

[dereban]

Hell if I know.

[ She won't let go of his hand regardless of whether or not they're down on the ground. Gross. ]

I'm physically fine...

[taketori]

Physically...

[ The implication's not at all missed. ]

Let's go find somewhere to sit down for a moment. Maybe we can at least find some coffee that's drinkable.

[ If this really IS a... spaceship... coffee might be made from some weird ingredients? ]

[dereban]

Yeah...

[ She's still looking a little tense, furrowing her brows. ]

Hopefully we can find something decent. I'm glad you're here though, Miyuki.

[taketori]

I'm... er, glad you're here too.

[ He's suddenly in the middle of looking relatively nervous? Miyuki absolutely found himself in a tough spot... he needed to be calm about this whole business and help assauge Inaba's worries...!

Clearly, the biggest priorities there were. Coffee, coffee... ]

...have you... seen anyone else?

[dereban]

No, I haven't seen any other familiar faces.

[ She squeezes his hand a little tightly, not wanting to let go. ]

Which is... giving me mixed feelings, I suppose.

[taketori]

I'll say. This entire thing is just--

[ He notes how Inaba squeezes his hand a bit. Right, right... ]

...Do you think they're telling the truth?

[dereban]

[ Her grip tightens, just slight. ]

Absolutely not.

[taketori]

Of course not. I don't believe it either.

Then, it's settled. We can figure out what the hell's actually going on here. I've had enough of being jerked around like this.

[ Said as if he actually has a clue of what to do, but as always... he can fake that confidence until the time is right. ]

[dereban]

[ She nods. ]

I'm done with dealing all of this crap. But... we have to lay low.

[taketori]

"Lay low?"

Why's that?

[dereban]

No particular reason.

[ Even as she says that, her grip tightens. ]

[taketori]

[ No reason, huh. ]

I'm not sure I get it, but... I trust your judgment. I'll do my best to keep a low profile.

At least until we can figure out what's actually happening here.

[dereban]

Thank you for trusting me, Miyuki.

[ She says those words before finally letting go of his hand. ]

I might not be able to help much, though.

I mean, realistically, how much can either of us do on our own? Even if this isn't some elaborate hoax--

[ Which, after a year or so at Yogen, he's less inclined to think it could be.

Hope springs eternal, really. ]

Even if, it'd take a lot for us to actually get anything done. So... I think for the time being, let's try to keep our eyes opened.

[ Such as now, as they find a coffee shop with a very familiar. Green star goddess logo? ]

...I guess this is the cafe.

[ No copyright laws in space. ]

[ Inaba's gaze shifts away before laughing hollowly. ]

...Right.

[ Anyway, pushing that aside! ]

Looks like it. I'd say I'm surprised but I guess Starbucks can be universal, sure.

I feel like this begs a lot of questions, but hell if I want to think too hard about it.

[ So he's decided to sweep it under the rug! And instead order himself a venti coffee, with a nice shot of expresso because this sucks. ]

At least I may be able to brew my own coffee here. Or get one of those single cup machines.

[ He couldn't afford them before! ]
